This exhibit features illustrations depicting the path in which Anthrax is inhaled into the lungs to enter the body. The first image reveals an overview of the respiratory path. The second image shows a detailed cut section through the terminal alveolar sacs which allow transfer of the Anthrax spores into the blood vessels and blood stream. Specifically label are the following: Nose, mouth, trachea, lymph nodes, lung, alveoli, spores and blood vessels.
